help create a safer culture on all of our projects.
Safety is the number one priority at McCusker-Gill. We are a family business and we are deeply committed to ensuring that every member of the McCusker-Gill family returns home safely from work each day. The commitment to safety starts with the management team at McCusker-Gill. Safety is not just a priority for us, it is one of our core values.
- Full compliance with all applicable OSHA safety laws, rules, and regulations
- Regularly scheduled meetings of McCusker-Gill internal safety committee
- Site specific safety plans are developed to address each project’s unique circumstances
- Routine jobsite safety audits are conducted on all projects. These are documented with photos and observations of jobsite conditions as well as potential areas for improvement. We also extend the offer for GC’s & CM’s to participate in these walkthroughs and/or review the findings of the audit afterwards
- Regular audits of our fabrication shop to ensure adherence to all OSHA best practices, such as machine guarding, lockout / tagout procedures, etc.
- Comprehensive hazard identification standards with JHA’s to utilize for all applicable work tasks
- Continuing education and onsite or classroom ad-hoc trainings for all employees
- Safety incentive program is available to all foremen to reward crew members who embody McG commitment to a culture of safety
- Mandatory 100% PPE compliance for all employees
- Immediate and comprehensive review of safety incidents, including near misses, to determine root causes and take preventative action
- Lessons learned are distributed to the entire company as appropriate with safety lessons & reminders
- Progressive disciplinary action program is available for safety non-compliance
